Honest Opinions Please. How many of you would find someone asking for a prenuptial contract insulting?
For me it wouldnt be insulting at all. I would be with you for love, companionship and ofcoarse the romance and not with you for your financial stability so I wouldnt mind you asking at all. You have to protect yourself financially...did the person pay for your education to get you where you are...NO...Did she work all those long hours so that you could get that raise...NO...so why should she be entitled to anything other than what she brought into the marriage. There are women out there that go thru a divorce (without a prenup) asking how much can I take from him Its sad but there is and sadly you may found that in your first marriage. Women should be preparing themselves to make it on there own not having to depend on taking him for all he is worth just so we can make it easier in life. Women should never take offense to a prenup. We are strong as women and we should be able to take care of ourselves in case of a divorce. It dont always happen that way. I guess this all stems from my divorce. I was married to a man for 13 yrs, made awesome money but he was abusive. I divorced him and no we didnt have a prenup but I still didnt concentrate on the fact that he was very financially stable. I walked away with no prenup and asked for NOTHING but my kids. Thats it...and I struggle but atleast I struggle the honest way. For those of you who take offense to the fact of being asked for a prenup..Why? If your truely with a man cause you love them then your not bothered by this but if you are bothered by this could it possibly be because you have been w this guy and now he has asked you to get married, your adjusted to his way of life. Your offended by the prenup! You may be doin this subconsciously or you may just be a gold digger. How many men do you see where the woman asks for the prenup? It dont happen that often. To all the women out there...If you truely truely love him...dont let a prenup be something that could stop a good thing. Dont be offended if a man ask you for one. By the way Dayvid, where are you from? Im Michelle and I live in Belleview Florida. Hope I added some insight to your question.
