Was it mean of me to kick the cat?

My mother in law has a cat that will claw at your pants the entire time youre sitting down. Its not just me this happens too, but everyone that comes over has to deal with this. About 2 weeks ago we were having dinning at my in laws place and this stupid ******** cat wouldnt stop clawing at my leg so I kicked the cat in its *** really hard causing it to skid across the basement floor. The cat has yet to come back to claw at me, but I do feel bad about it. Is this mean that I did this?
